@cowal_open_studios today! We’ve just been to see the amazing @shirleytorrance in her beautiful studio. Go and visit her - no. 31 on the map, south route!

Wow! A day after launching the 2024 Sense of Place art experience in the #outerhebrides it’s almost fully booked! We only have 1 space left (single room) - grab it before it’s gone! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🤩

We‘re spending a couple of nights at Portavadie Marina. Portavadie is on the other side of the Cowal peninsula and reachable by car or bus from @studio_on_the_shore . The marina has a spa with an infinity pool, looking across to Kintyre in the west and Bute and Arran in the south. Another great destination for a day trip! 🤩🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

What looks like a satellite image of many little islands was in fact a pillar covered in barnacles at Rothesay Marina 😎

We sailed to the Isle of Bute yesterday, which is a great destination for a day trip from @studio_on_the_shore and doable by public transport. In Rothesay you find a lot of stunning architecture, including some amazing Art Deco buildings. Also on Bute is Mount Stuart, a must visit place when you’re in the area. I’ll dig out some pics for another post soon 😉.

A few pics from this week. There’s so much to explore in Lewis & Harris! When you slow down and really see, hear and feel you get this Sense of Place and understand what these islands are about….

The weather may not have been the sunniest since we arrived here, but the landscapes are as breathtaking as ever….heaven for artistic inspiration 🌊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌦️
