Nicky Sanderson

Nicky SandersonAbout me

My studio is in the Port of Leith, Edinburgh where my practice encompasses multi media pieces based currently on landscape and human interaction with the land.
I am a graduate of Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen and Slade School of Fine Art, London where I studied printmaking. A travelling scholarship to Mexico sparked a life-long relationship with colour, quirkiness and the Spanish language. For many years I combined my art practice with teaching adults in Edinburgh and on trips around Scotland and Spain.

Things I love

Being alive in this extraordinarily beautiful country of Scotland with its boundless inspiration….sharing that joy with others to create work that somehow encapsulates small parts of it.

Art is not what you see, but what you must make others see. {Edgar Degas}

Nicky is one of the best teachers I have experienced. She has wonderful insight into each student’s style and potential. I’m inspired! {Cheryl, Ohio, Lewis & Harris Art Experience 2019}
