Creative Experiences in Scotland
Stone carving is at the same time hard work and an act of tremendous delicacy. And it’s immensely rewarding. Why not try this ancient art while on vacation in Scotland?
Simon is a professional sculptor and letter carver working mainly in stone and marble but also in other media. You can find out more about him and see examples of his work on his profile page.
The workshop is suitable for beginners and more experienced sculptors alike and contents will be tailored to your skills level and interests. If you’ve never done any stone carving before, you will learn to think three-dimensionally and how to manipulate the stone from the basic idea to the finished work. If you opt for letter carving, you will learn the importance of drawing your design onto the stone before carving, thinking about style, proportion, spacing and form before the process of carving begins.
At an additional cost we will ship your finished pieces to your home address.
