Fabulous first day of our Fabric of an Island art retreat on magical Iona with @janetmelroseartist ….bit of walking & drawing….lots of playing in the studio 🤩. I want to say a huge big thank you to the wonderful @kategrayyogaandayurveda , who spoiled us all with the most delicious food during the Skye Textile Experience! Eating well and really enjoying every meal is such an important aspect of a great holiday experience. Kate produced delicious dishes cooked from scratch with fresh and high quality ingredients. Wonderful feasts! 🥘🍋🥑🍆🍤❤️ We’re delighted to announce that the next Elemental Skye art experience with the amazing @lizmyhillartist on the Isle of Skye is now ready for booking! 🤩 13-20 March 2027. A few pics from our visit to Shilasdair, the Isle of Skye Natural Dye Company, on the Trotternish peninsula. Using Skye’s landscape for inspiration and the land’s natural dyes as pigments, they produce beautiful knitting yarns. Simon gave a hugely interesting talk in the dyeing shed then, of course, large amounts of yarn were purchased at the shop - yarn lovers were in heaven! 😇🧶💕. Another highlight of this trip! Our visit to @skyetextilemill . In their workshop Paul and Edelina have brought old knitting mill machinery back to life by lovingly restoring it. Paul explained the different steps from yarn to finished garment with great passion. So well worth a visit! 🤩 One of the many highlights of this trip - a full day of weaving with the fabulous Jaine and @catrionaarchibaldmakes at @skyesilks ! Each participant got a project that suited their skills and experience 🤩 @lucymacleodstudios A few photos from another fantastic Dorset Button workshop with the lovely Tania from @tjfrogskye . The skills she taught our guests will travel to the US, Canada and Switzerland, where loads more Dorset Buttons will be created 🤩🙏🏻. Your April Update on Immersive Creative Adventures in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Catching up on the last couple of days….visit to @skyeskynsltd , the only tannery in Scotland. Run by women, they use sustainable methods for producing their beautiful sheepskins 🐏🐑.
