Wonderful workshop with @carolinedearartist at her studio. We learned how to make ropes from local plants….we’ll look at what grows around us with new eyes.

Today we visited @island_at_the_edge in Edinbane to learn about crofting life and how fleeces are processed to produce genuine Isle of Skye yarn. Yasmin, the owner, didn’t just share her knowledge and stories with us, but she also spoiled us with the most delicious home-baked cakes!

The first day of our textile adventure on the Isle of Skye started with a big highlight- a visit to @isleofskyenaturaldyeco , where Kirsty and Simon dye their beautiful yarns using local plants and sustainable methods. The shop is a paradise for yarn lovers!

Wee recce trip to Easdale Island where a day excursion will take us as part of the Sacred Geometry art experience in June. You access Easdale by boat from Seil Island which, in turn, is connected to the mainland by a small stone bridge, called “Bridge over the Atlantic “.

I have such a crazy amount of lovely images on my phone - most of them just hang around on the camera roll, forgotten. It’s time I start sharing some of them - watch out for more.
