We had a wonderful day on the Isle of Bute yesterday, exploring the island in preparation for a self-care retreat for widows I'm organising there with my other business @fireandrainsoulspa . The venue we've booked for it would be great for a Wild at Art creative retreat as well, me thinks.....
So mega-proud of Wild at Art co-founder @ecolingsworthart ! She's going from strength to strength on her artistic journey and will be exhibiting in Edinburgh as part of @surfacingartists . I love her work!
Michaela from Seatree Argyll ran a private pottery workshop for us which I'd gifted to my friend for her birthday. Working with and shaping the clay is a deeply satisfying experience...especially in surroundings like this! It's fascinating to see how you can make an impact. It also forces you to slow down...clay can't be rushed. We're exploring the idea of running a creative retreat in Argyll, including pottery and poetry.
Home tired but very happy after a day of exploring and appreciating beautiful Argyll. One of the things I absolutely love about what I'm doing is meeting the artists and makers I work with. Today I visited the the amazing @louiseoppenheimer at her weaving studio with the equally amazing @karenbeauchampstudio . We then had a tasty lunch on the terrace at @lochmelfort overlooking Loch Melfort. A day full of highlights as we also soaked in the spirit of the ancient stones at Kilmartin (remained in the 21st century though) and watched the boats on the Crinan Canal. Argyll I'd full of treasures! 🏴❤️
